I'll check out Poe and see what I can do with it to bring it more up to date.

Do you condemn the Society's no-blood policy and still do not DONATE BLOOD?
by nicolaou init's your decision to make.
it would be as wrong of this community to insist everyone donate blood as it is of the cult to insist otherwise.

There was a story that supposedly happened here about a family that bought a beautiful desk from Goodwill or somewhere like that. One evening, one of the family members reached up to the top of a bookshelf in their home to get a WT. Guess what happened? The WT was being held by something! That something wouldn't let go of it! They also started experiencing a round of bad luck with jobs, health, money, those sort of things. Finally, they figured it out. It must be that the desk they bought was demonized! Out it went along with all of their problems.
Yeah, right. When I heard that, I thought of how much of that was due to their own bad planning and just bad luck with health that affects us all. I was in at that time, but I was beginning to not believe these stories completely.

I had sleep paralysis and thought it was demons. It was so terrifying being awake and completely unable to move. We thought it had something to do with a necklace and skirt that I had bought at a garage sale. Got rid of the necklace but still had the waking sleep problem about twice a year for a few years. It was awful! Finally, I learned to talk my way through it until it passed.

I loved Twilight books as a teenager. My friends who were religious but not JW thought I had creepy tastes. Now, I read SKing novels. Go figure! We all end up how we originally felt as kids, in one way or another. I love vampire and supernatural books. Don't scare me a bit.

My first flag salute and national anthem!
by White Dove ini've come a long way, baby!
i stood for the national anthem for the first time ever at graduation on sunday.. i saluted the flag for the first time ever at a community event last night.. it was surreal and felt wonderful, like i was doing something so natural and good.. when i put my hand over my heart for the first time, it felt very strange.
i had to think for a minute if i used the proper hand over the right place.

I've come a long way, Baby!
I stood for the National Anthem for the first time ever at graduation on Sunday.
I saluted the flag for the first time ever at a community event last night.
It was surreal and felt wonderful, like I was doing something so natural and good.
When I put my hand over my heart for the first time, it felt very strange. I had to think for a minute if I used the proper hand over the right place. I did, but it felt weird to do and it felt very strange to say the words for the first time that I had always thought previously but never dared to say aloud.
I cried during the NA because it was the first time I allowed myself to feel a deep sense of patriotism. Oh, it felt so good! It was such an emotional experience.
I wonder how many never-beens feel this way. Is it mostly the ones that never could do it but do it now that feel so inspired by these experiences?

I'm expected to stay in although I'm complaining about there being no love or support in the congregations for their members. Family thinks I'm still in.

I too was in choir in school, but I had to sit out about 1/2 the songs and concerts. My grade suffered for it. When a song came up that my mom said I couldn't do, I had to literally sit down on the risers. I was so embarrassed by it that by the last concert and last song, which I wasn't supposed to stand for, I proudly sang it. I was in ninth grade. Sure got a hard talking to by mom for that one, but my dad didn't care. He tried to calm and quiet her down. She was berating me right in front of everyone for it.
